Neighborhood Development Corporation (NDC) announces the appointment of Marty Hoeger as President and CEO of the organization. Hoeger succeeds Carol Bower, current President and CEO, who will leave the organization in June of 2010.
Hoeger currently works as a Real Estate Development Coordinator for the City of Cedar Rapids and has served as a staff liaison to the NDC Board of Directors since the organization’s inception. Hoeger has worked for the City development department for two years.
“Marty Hoeger brings a wealth of community knowledge and a passion for redevelopment to the table,” says Bill Prowell, NDC Board Chair. “We’ve been lucky to have his expertise on the board, and look forward to the direction he will provide as NDC works to fulfill its mission.”
NDC is funded through the Department of Economic Development and replenishes the fund through careful purchase of targeted properties and resale and redevelopment of those properties in a manner consistent with the City of Cedar Rapids Vision Statement and community infill growth plans. Recent projects include the sale of the former Village Bank property in the New Bohemia/Czech Village district to private developers for redevelopment into a mixed use property.
